The UML had sought clarification from Rawal, who is also a former vice president, on November 5 regarding his remarks about the donation of land made by businessman Min Bahadur Gurung for the construction of the party office. Sources said Rawal had refused to submit clarification to the party.
The secretariat meeting also decided to suspend Standing Committee member Binda Pandey and Central Committee member Usha Kiran Timsina for six months. They have been accused of violating the party’s discipline by speaking against the party on various occasions.
