Mohan Chaudhary is 21 years old, and working as a laborer for a construction company in Kathmandu. He is originally from Deukhuri, Dang. His work station varies as per the instruction of his employer. He begins his work from 10 am and continues till 5 pm. Sometimes, he has to work overtime depending on the kind of labor required. He gave up schooling after Grade VI and started working as a laborer ever since. He has left behind his mother and wife to work in Kathmandu. Talking about the work satisfaction he shared, “The company pays for my accommodation and I have to spend only for food. This has helped me save a good amount of money, which I send home. I want to continue this job for as long as I can.” He said life for him was filled with responsibility. Being an only child, he feels responsible to look after the family of four.
