KATHMANDU, Oct 2: The Department of Commerce, Supplies, and Consumer Protection raided Aakash Foods, the company that produces sweets for Angan Sweets.
During the raid, the Department found that sweets were being produced using flood-damaged, worn-out packaging, old oil, and food items. As a result, a fine of Rs 200,000 was imposed.

According to him, issues were found such as the production date on the oil used for making sweets being worn out, lack of attention to oil purification, and repeated use of oil that had already been used once.
On Tuesday, the Department also inspected Hankook Sarang Restaurant in Jawalakhel. During the inspection, it was found that they were using flour without a brand label and items without production date labels. As a result, a fine of Rs 300,000 was imposed.
