MYAGDI, March 15: The mountaineering sector of Nepal affected by the COVID-19 pandemic has started to show signs of recovery in the post-pandemic era.
With the start of the spring climbing season, as many as 13 foreigners along with their expedition teams have arrived in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-4 of Mudi to reach the summit of Mt Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters).

Although Mt Dhaulagiri is connected to the border of Raghuganga Rural Municipality and Mustang district, the direct route for climbers to reach the base camp is through Mudi and the surrounding areas as there is an easy and beautiful route to reach the base camp of Mt Dhaulagiri via West Myagdi.
On May 13, 1960, Australian climber Kurt Diemberger became the first man to reach the summit of Dhaulagiri.
