KATHMANDU, April 1: Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets in the 12th match of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Held at the Wankhede International Cricket Stadium in Mumbai, the match marked Mumbai's first win in this IPL after three matches. Mumbai had lost their previous two games.

Kolkata set a target of 117 runs, which Mumbai chased down successfully in 12.5 overs, losing two wickets. Ryan Rickelton remained unbeaten, scoring the highest of 62 runs, hitting five sixes and four fours in 41 balls. Surya Kumar Yadav scored 27 runs, while Will Jacks contributed 16 and Rohit Sharma added 13. Mumbai also received three extra runs. Andre Russell took two wickets for Kolkata.
Earlier, Kolkata, who lost the toss and batted first, managed to score 116 runs, losing all 10 wickets in 16.2 overs. Ankur Raghuwanshi was Kolkata's top scorer with 26 runs, hitting three fours and one six in 16 balls.
Raman Deep Singh scored 22, Manish Pandey made 19, Rinku Singh contributed 17, captain Ajinkya Rahane made 11, and Andre Russell added 5. Harshit Rana, Chakravarthy Venkatesh, Quinton de Kock, and Spencer Johnson each took one wicket, while Sunil Narine failed to score. Kolkata earned seven extra runs. Mumbai's Ashwini Kumar took the most wickets, claiming four.
Deepak Chahar claimed two wickets, while Mumbai's captain Hardik Pandya, Trent Boult, Vignesh Puthur, and Mitchell Santner each took one.
