Hitraj Pandey, Chief Whip of the CPN (Maoist Center), blamed the government for failing to control the situation at Tinkune.

He criticized the authorities for not taking effective action, despite having the capacity to prevent the escalation of violence.

“How can people believe that the police, who failed to arrest anyone despite surrounding the area at the time, will suddenly catch them now?” Pandey questioned. He also accused the government of deliberately allowing protest leader Durga Prasai to escape, raising concerns about the police’s role.

Lawmakers have urged the Home Minister to provide a comprehensive response on the government’s preparedness and the damages caused by the protest. The committee has taken the matter seriously.
