KATHMANDU, May 28: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak is preparing to respond on Wednesday to the questions raised against him regarding the ‘Visit Visa scandal.’ Lekhak plans to present his stance during the House of Representatives session if possible, or else hold a press conference in the evening to make his position public.
“If possible, he will stand at the House of Representatives podium to answer the propaganda against him,” said a source from Home Minister Lekhak’s secretariat. “If not, he is prepared to give his response through a press conference.”

The press conference will be held at the Lhotse Hall in the Federal Parliament building, the source added.
Home Minister Lekhak had previously prepared to give his response in the House of Representatives on Tuesday. He had even requested time from Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire for this purpose. However, the opposition parties obstructed him and did not allow him to speak, which led to the postponement of Tuesday’s session.
In Wednesday’s (today’s) session as well, the opposition parties have maintained the same strategy as the previous day. When the session first started, they disrupted the proceedings. Following this, Speaker Ghimire suspended the meeting for half an hour. However, it has not yet resumed.
Discussions are ongoing among the parties. While the ruling parties are insisting that Home Minister Lekhak should be allowed to speak, the opposition is holding firm with the condition that he must resign before being allowed to speak.
