KATHMANDU, April 2: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday rose by 23.86 points to close at 2,700.04 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,676.17 points, initially plunged to the day’s low at 2,670.58 points in the first 14 minutes. The index however went to an upward graph and reached the day’s high at 2,712.13 points in the next two and a half hours. The market shed around 12 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Stocks end week with gains stretching May rebound
Two groups, including manufacturing and processing, and non-life insurance, were the only two losers, who lost 106.62 points and 33.06 points respectively. Out of 11 gaining groups, trading rose by a whopping 420.89 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, increased by 1.08 points. Daily turnover amount declined slightly to Rs 5.44 billion from Rs 5.79 billion on Tuesday.
Among the individual companies, 166 were gainers while 78 were registered as losers. CEDB Holdings Limited had the biggest turnover of Rs 365.55 million.
With an addition of 10 percent in its market value, Central Finance Co Ltd was recorded as the biggest gainer. Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited suffered the highest loss.
