In other matches, Tungram International School (TIA) and Gauri Shankhar School emerged victorious. TIA recorded a comfortable win over Gyan Niketan 51-36 and Gauri Shankhar thrashed AIA 54-24.
Farewell to Shrestha
KATHMANDU, July 26: Sports associations affiliated to the National Sports Council (NSC) bade farewell to the outgoing NSC member secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha amidst a function at the covered hall of the Dasharath Stadium on Sunday.
Shrestha, who was appointed member secretary from the CPN-UML quota three years ago, resigned from the post on Thursday after the Ministry of Youth and Sports went to the Tarai Madhes Democratic Party in the recent power sharing deal.
Officials of several sports associations also smeared Shrestha with colors on the occasion as a token of love.
Palpa elects cricket body
KATHMANDU, July 26: Palpa District Cricket Association elected an 11-member working committee under Rajesh Shrestha´s leadership on Sunday.
Shailendra Bhattarai was elected vice president, Shri Chanda Shakya secretary, Chirinjivi Sharma treasurer and Rashmi Shakya was elected joint secretary. Dipak Pandey, Gunjan Ghimire, Rajib Shrestha, Purna Shakya, Sushil Pangeni were elected members and Madhav Aryal press advisor.
Darts committee formed
KATHMANDU, July 26: A-six member darts technical and discipline committee has been formed under the leadership of Dinesh Thapa, general secretary of the Nepal Darts Association (NDA).
Ramesh Adhikari, Ishwar Bahadur Gurung, Raj Kumar Pandey, Sunil Shrestha and Sudarshan Jamarkattel are the members of the committee.
According to a press release issued by NDA on Sunday, the committee will focus on the technical and disciplinary issues of NDA and work for the promotion of darts at the school level.
