UCPN (Maoist) postpones general convention

KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The central committee meeting of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) decided to postpone its general convention by a year, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Maoist´s deputy parliamentary party leader told myrepublica.com



The party decided to hold the convention starting January 29, 2011. Earlier in August, the party had decided to convene the event on January 29, 2010.



The party has not held its general convention for last 18 years. The Maoist party´s previous central committee meeting had earlier decided to adopt multi-post system in the party.
