Dashain is already at our doorstep and the festival vibe has taken over the city. Many people have started packing to partake in the festival merriment at their native birthplace. However, the vibe isn’t equally awesome for everyone. Some cannot spend their festival as they wished. The students are most likely to go home with an extra burden of festival assignments.

KATHMANDU, Oct 10: While heading to Syangja, his hometown, Purna Thapa did not know that it would be his last day. At 2 PM, on Saturday, he left Kathmandu with his wife, Bidhya Thapa, in his motorcycle. At Chandragiri Municipality-15, a truck struck him from behind. The rider and the pillion were seriously injured. The couple was immediately rushed to Om Samaj Hospital before being shifted to National Trauma Center for further treatment. Purna Thapa died in the course of treatment; he was only 25.

Dear Sadichha, I live and study in Melbourne. My father took a loan to send me here. As I am living alone, life is very hard to sustain. I work more than studying. Sometimes, I think I am defying my father’s debt, which led me to this foreign land. I work at a restaurant where; I work all day and my daily life has been depressing. Dal Bahadur Gandharva is a Kathmandu immigrant from Chitwan. He has been selling bead necklaces at Basantapur since he first arrived at Kathmandu, 35 years ago. Gandharva is grateful for the second chance that life gave him; he had narrowly escaped death during the 2015 earthquake.

Seventh Music Khabar Musical Award was held at Birendra Sabhagriha, Biratnagar, on Friday. The music award was organized by Music Khabar, in association with Hami Yuba. Singer Shiva Pariyar won the award for the Best Modern Male Singer for his song ‘Barshaun Bho Chadeko’.
Miss Kavre 2018, Rubila Shrestha, will be representing Nepal in Miss Global World, in China. Shrestha bagged the title prize of Miss Kavre 2018 at an event held in Banepa on Saturday. Along with the Miss Kavre crown, she also won the Most Confident and Best Talent titles.

After a gap of five years, Trisha Gurung made a return to music with her first solo album. She began her musical journey with ‘Khani Ho Yahmu’. Wih her debut song, Gurung won many admirers.
