Tamang elected SA wushu VP

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Nepal Wushu Association's co-chairman Bir Bahadur Tamang was elected as the vice-president of the South Asian Wushu Federation. The federation's general assembly held in New Delhi, India elected Tamang as the vice-president unopposed, according to Dipak Lama, vice-president of Nepal Wushu Association. Meanwhile, coach Pranil Dhwoj Karki once again got elected as the chief of the technical committee of the federation.

Nepal SAG boxing team leaving for Bangkok today

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): A 14-member boxing team, including 10 players, is set to leave for Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday to prepare for the 12th South Asian Games to be held in India in February. Tej Bahadur Deuba (49 kg), Prem Chaudhary (52 kg), Dinesh Shrestha (56 kg), Dan Bahadur Darlami (60 kg), Deepak Shrestha (64 kg), Bikash Bal Lama (69 kg) and Dipesh Lama (75 kg) are the male men players in the team, while Inu Gurung (48-51kg), Saraswati Rana Magar (57-60 kg) and Sangita Sunar (69-75 kg) are the female players of the team. The Nepali boxing team, that spent a week in Pokhara, will be back from Thailand on February 4, according to Rajeev Shrestha, president of Nepal Boxing Association.
