KATHMANDU, May 28: Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) on Thursday appointed Rudra Singh Tamang as the chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Office.

Tamang replaced Purna Bhakta Tandukar as the chief, UP Lamichhane, personal aide to Deputy Prime Ministry Prakash Man Singh, said.

Tandukar has been recalled at Ministry of General Administration on Monday for his poor performance as the KMC chief during disaster management post-earthquake.

Tamang was joint-secretary at Ministry of Commerce and Supplies (MoCS). He has a long experience as local district officer in Dhading and Nuwakot districts before he was transferred to MoCS from MoFALD.
