SAFF Women's U-19: Bangladesh defeats India by 2-0

Bangladesh defeated India 2–0 with both goals in the first half. Captain Arpita Biswas opened the scoring in the 29th minute, followed by a goal from Alpi Akter in the 40th minute, which proved sufficient for Bangladesh to secure the victory. Despite repeated efforts to make a comeback, India failed to score throughout the match.

KASKI, Feb 2: Bangladesh won the first match in the SAFF Women’s U-19 Championship held at Pokhara International Football Stadium today.



Bangladesh defeated India 2–0 with both goals in the first half. Captain Arpita Biswas opened the scoring in the 29th minute, followed by a goal from Alpi Akter in the 40th minute, which proved sufficient for Bangladesh to secure the victory. Despite repeated efforts to make a comeback, India failed to score throughout the match.

With two wins, Bangladesh is at the top of the points table with 6 points, while India, with 2 points, stands in second place.


The second match for the day is being played between host Nepal and Bhutan. Both teams had lost their previous matches. 


Nepal suffered a one-goal defeat against India, while Bhutan lost heavily to Bangladesh by a margin of 12 goals.
