KATHMANDU, May 9: The FIFA World Cup 2026 is all set to kick off after 34 days.
This year’s mega football event will be hosted by three countries—USA, Mexico and Canada. This is the first time that three countries are jointly hosting the World Cup.

This time, teams from 48 countries will be participating in the World Cup events. In contrast to 32 participant countries as of now, there will be 16 additional teams to compete in the event.
FIFA has planned to organize the World Cup 2030 in six countries. Of them, three countries including Spain, Portugal and Morocco will be the main hosting countries. To mark the centenary celebration, the FIFA is allowing the Latin American countries including Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay also to host some of the matches of the 2030 mega football events.
