Parliament obstructed over PM Shah’s absence, adjourned for 15 minutes

The protest came after the Prime Minister failed to appear in the HoR, where he was expected to respond to lawmakers’ questions on the government’s policy and programme.

KATHMANDU, May 13: Opposition parties obstructed Wednesday’s House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, demanding the presence of Prime Minister Balendra Shah in Parliament.



The Prime Minister was expected to respond to lawmakers’ questions on the government’s policy and programme. However, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle was set to reply instead.

Although Prime Minister Shah was initially scheduled to address the HoR, the responsibility was handed over to the Finance Minister at the last moment, according to the revised agenda.












Following protests from the opposition, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal adjourned the House for 15 minutes.
