KATHMANDU, Feb 4: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has accepted the resignation of Chief Secretary of the party’s central office, Krishna Prasad Paudel. Paudel resigned from the post on January 22.
On Wednesday, NC Secretary Prakash Sharma issued a statement informing that President Thapa has accepted Paudel’s resignation.

Paudel, who had been serving as Chief Secretary since May 9, 2016, performed his duties in accordance with the party’s statute, rules, and policies, for which President Thapa expressed gratitude.
Thapa also wished Paudel a bright future and expressed confidence that his support to the party will continue in the days ahead.
With the Chief Secretary post now vacant, President Thapa has assigned Krishna Prasad Dulal, Secretary at the central office, as the acting Chief Secretary.
According to Article 25(10) of the Party Constitution 2017 (amended), Rules 2076, and Employee Regulations 2079, Dulal will hold the responsibility until further arrangements are made, the statement said.
