Why did 12 UML leaders quit the party in Siraha?

In the statement, they said that despite repeated efforts to reform the party from within, the leadership failed to take the issues they raised seriously. As a result, they said they could no longer remain in the party and decided to resign.

SIRAHA, Feb 4: Twelve leaders of the CPN-UML Siraha chapter have quit the party. They announced their decision to leave the party politically through a joint statement issued on Wednesday.

Those who resigned include Provincial Committee member Pushpalal Pakhrin; former District Committee member Madhav Bahadur Budhathoki; Provincial Committee member of the Intellectuals and Teachers’ Organization Bhim Bahadur Thapa; former District Committee member Dhanraj Yadav; District Committee members Tulsi Prasad Upadhyay and Pramod Kumar Lama; former District Committee member Tej Kumar Lama; former Ward Committee chair Rajkaran Sah; Municipal Secretariat member Ranjit Kumar Lama; Municipal member Tara Bahadur Tamang; and leaders Kiran Kumar Syangwa and Raj Kumar Mahato.


In the statement, they said that despite repeated efforts to reform the party from within, the leadership failed to take the issues they raised seriously. As a result, they said they could no longer remain in the party and decided to resign.
