Poor weather forces tourist to divert destination

POKHARA, Sept 18: As the obstruction in air route of Pokhara-Josom and Beni-Jomson road section continues for a week because of the incessant rainfall, hundreds of Indian tourists are diverting to other destinations.



The Indian tourist planning to visit Muktinath from Pokhara have cancelled their trip and some have diverted to other alternative destinations. [break]



Following the adverse weather, no flights operated in Pokhara-Jomsom sector for the last six days. Station manager of Tara Air, Ram Lamichhane said that although the airlines was operating up to 8 flights a day in this sector, all the flights were being cancelled because of the bad weather.



Manager at Jomsom Airport Shiva Sharma said that trekkers along with pigrims were suffering because of the cancellation of the flights. “ It seems like it will take some more days for the weather to get better,” he said that it was not even convenient to trek because of the heavy rainfall leaving tourist with no option but to wait for the weather to get better.



Prakash paudel of Satyam Tours and Travels said that 72 Indian tourist cancelled the tour to Jomson after waiting for three days. “ Although they were planning to take chartered flight to Jomson, they had to cancel the trip after there was no sign for improvement,” Paudel said tourists were forced to spend more because of the flight cancellation.
