Pokhara Airport resumes after two hrs

POKHARA, June 2: Pokhara Airport, which was closed after a Goma Air aircraft met with a minor accident on Tuesday morning, resumed operation after two hours.  

The aircraft had blocked the runway since 7 am this morning resulting in closure of the airport. The plane was towed to the hanger with the joint efforts of technicians and security personnel.

The 9N AKY aircraft carrying 18 passengers, which took off from Jomsom, met with an accident as the nosewheel of the aircraft could not be opened while landing.

Shutting down of the airport had forced delay of aircraft from Jomsom and Katmandu.

The Goma Air had been operating flights from Pokhara-Jomsom since last year.
