KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Amidst guesswork whether Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will visit India or China as first visit after taking charge of the government, Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa on Tuesday said PM Oli will soon commence on visit of the northern neighbor.

Talking to reporters at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) upon his arrival from six-day China visit, Deputy Prime Minister Thapa said, “PM will visit China at the beginning of 2016.”

According to him, the agreement on fuel import will be implemented during PM visit to China and issue of railway to Nepal through Kerung will be finalized.

Minister Thapa said his visit has chalked out long-term business relationship between the two countries.

China to provide 1.4 million liters fuel in grant

Minister Thapa said that China has agreed to provide 1.4 million liters fuel as grant assistance to Nepal to cope with the fuel crisis. China had provided 1.3 million liters fuel earlier.

Thapa said he talked with the Chinese side regarding price and other facets of fuel import, adding that a technical team of Nepal Oil Corporation is in Beijing to sort out the issue.

He said that the two countries agreed to gradually open nine border points.

China and Nepal also agreed to resume Araniko Highway and ensure transportation along the Rasuwagadhi-Syaprubeshi road throughout the year, according to him.
