SALYAN, Feb 2: Ten people were injured, including the driver, after an auto-rickshaw met with an accident in Salyan district on Monday afternoon.
According to the District Police Office, Salyan, the accident occurred at around 2 pm near the Irrigation Office in Khalanga along the Khalanga–Shrinagar road section in Sharada Municipality–2. The auto-rickshaw (Ra 1 Ha 2195), which was heading towards Khalanga from Shrinagar, lost control and plunged approximately 500 metres down the roadside.
Of the injured, two are in serious condition, three sustained moderate injuries, and five suffered minor injuries, police said.

All the injured have been taken to the District Hospital, Salyan, for treatment.
Police said the driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Arjun Dangi of Sharada Municipality–6, did not sustain any injuries. He has been taken into custody for investigation.
Those injured in the accident have been identified as 35-year-old Dipak BK of Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality–2; 19-year-old Resham Bahadur Nepali of Sharada Municipality–11; 78-year-old Tar Bahadur Reule of Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality–1; 23-year-old Sangita BK of Bangad Kupinde Municipality–9; her seven-year-old son Dipak and three-year-old daughter Srishti; 23-year-old Krishna Budhathoki of Babai Rural Municipality–6, Dang; her three-year-old daughter Smriti; and 38-year-old Dhani Sunar and 39-year-old Pushpa Sunar, both of Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality–2.
Police also confirmed that the driver did not possess a valid driving licence at the time of the accident.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
