According to PM´s secretariat, Belbase would be sacked from his post if he does not comply with the prime minister´s request to resign.[break]
“If he does not not resign by 9 am on Sunday, PM will remove him from office,” said Ganga Shrestha, personal secretary of the PM. Bhattarai had telephoned Belbase and ordered him to resign.
“Belbase had told the prime minister that he would bring in his clarification or his resignation letter," said Debendra Paudel, political advisor of the prime minister.
Members of Anti Corruption Nepal, an NGO, recorded eight video during their "sting´ including one in which Belbase himself assures the group of completing their work before Dashain in return for the money. The videos were posted on a Nepali news website on Saturday.
In one of the videos, Belbase´s aide and party alternative central committee member Bhaskar Kafle, is seen asking for Rs. 250,000 to register a recruitment agency.
Earlier, minister for the same ministry Sarita Giri was also sacked by Bhattarai after Giri transfered director general of the labour department over dispute in the case of registering of manpower agencies.
Meanwhile, Bhattarai also called CPN (Marxist and Leninist) General Secretary CP Mainali to express his dissatisfaction over Belbase.
According to Shrestha, Bhattarai also urged Mainali to talk Belbase to resign. Belbase, who is from Arghakhachi, is politburo member of CPN-ML. He was also former vice chairman of the commission for revolutionary land reform.
