Two killed in road accidents in Jhapa

According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, the deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Yubraj Pathak of Damak-10 and a 22-year-old Sujata Budhathoki, a resident of Damak.

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Two people have died in separate road accidents in Damak and Birtamod of Jhapa district.



According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, the deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Yubraj Pathak of Damak-10 and a 22-year-old Sujata Budhathoki, a resident of Damak.

Police said Pathak died after a motorcycle and a truck collided near the Bijuli Office in Damak Municipality-9 at around midnight last night.


Similarly, in Birtamod Chowk, a collision between a motorcycle and an autorickshaw at the Aduwa Pul road section left the female motorcycle passenger seriously injured. She died during treatment at B&C Hospital, Birtamod, this morning, police said.


In the same accident, the motorcycle rider, 24-year-old Niraj Karki of Gauradaha Municipality-3, was also injured. He is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.


Jhapa Police Spokesperson Khagendra Bahadur Karki said that necessary investigations are underway in both incidents.
