KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Former Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has intensified meeting the party leaders with the intention of contesting the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election from Dadeldhura.
Sources said Deuba has conveyed his willingness to contest the poll. Sources said discussions have been held on his behalf with leaders close to party President Gagan Thapa. It has been known that Thapa has not objected if Deuba decides to enter the race.

Meanwhile, talks among Deuba’s close aides are continuing at his Maharajgunj residence, with senior leaders including Purna Bahadur Khadka, Minendra Rijal and Balkrishna Khand taking part.
The party had almost finalized ticket allocation in consensus last night. However, differences have surfaced after Deuba and former Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka issued greetings for the Lhosar festival in the capacity of incumbent President and Acting President.
