People want monarchy to step-in: Former king

BHAIRAHAWA, July 3: Former king Gyanendra Shah who is on a religious trip to western districts said that people fed up with ongoing failures are looking for monarchy to step in.



Speaking at a press meet on Tuesday, the former king said it is people who would decide the role of the monarch in the present scenario. [break]



“A new force should evolve now, it might be traditional monarch or something else,” Shah said.



He also accused leaders of dancing to the tunes of foreign forces.



When asked if he was mulling a career in politics, the former king made it clear that he was okay with his role as a king. “I am much better in king’s role not that of a politician”, Shah claimed.



The former king stressed the need for unity among the people.
