KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Election Commission (EC) has said that a total of 49 candidates have withdrawn their nominations across the country for the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election.

EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said 3,487 candidates had registered their nominations nationwide on January 20.
EC added that all election-related activities—including voter registration, nomination filing, publication of candidate lists, claims and objections, and withdrawals—have been conducted peacefully.
