NC General Convention: 63 aspirants withdraw candidacies

KATHMANDU, March 5: A total of 312 leaders have filed their candidacies for different posts in the ongoing 13th General Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC).

63 people withdrew their candidacies on Saturday, according to a member of Election Committee, Gopal Krishna Ghimire.

Some 375 aspirants had filed their candidacies for 64 posts on Friday.

The election for the new leadership will be held from 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday at Rastriya Sabha Griha.

The election commission said that counting of votes for president will commence soon after the election at the Sabha Griha and for other posts at party’s headquarters at Sanepa.
