KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has condemned the incident that took place at the Janaki Temple in Janakpur on the day when the President was there to observe the Bibaha Panchami festival few days back.

Receiving a memorandum today submitted by a delegation representing the CPN-UML province no 4 at the party central office Dhumbarahi, seeking opening of the Korala point linking Mustang district with China, PM and party Chair Sharma Oli said the incident in which President Bidya Devi Bhandari was mistreated was an example of barbaric and wild act.

In his response to the memorandum, the Prime Minister pledged to pay attention to the development of the province. Some forces have turned violent putting the country's territorial integrity at risk and the government is fully committed towards controlling such acts, he said.
The delegation urged the Prime Minister to take efforts to materialize the plan of constructing an international airport in Pokhara.

The PM said none was entitled to take the country hostage in a bid to fulfill personal interests. He said the government was seriously working out on all probable measures to address the Mades unrest.

He expressed his concern over the rumors in the Tarai that the new constitution has barred a spouse of Nepali citizen from acquiring naturalized citizenship, adding that 596 women have received naturalized citizenship after the promulgation of the new constitution.

The Korala point located at Chhonhup VDC of Upper Mustang that lies in province no 4 in the new federal set-up is the shortest route linking Tibet of northern neighbor and Sunauli of southern neighbor India. RSS
