Mahato demands Rs 20m for kidney patients

KATHMANDU, Sept. 19: Minister for Health and Population Rajendra Mahato said that the Ministry has demanded Rs.20 million with the Finance Ministry to provide support for immediate treatment of kidney patients.



Receiving a report submitted by High Level Task Force on Kidney Disease at his office here today, Minister Mahato said, "The budget will give relief to kidney patients for treatment".



The Health Minister assured that the task force´s report would be brought into implementation immediately.



The Ministry had formed a 11-member task force coordinated by senior Joint-secretary Professor Dr. Tirtharaj Burlakoti on August 21.



The report submitted on Wednesday has suggested to simplify the laws relating to body organ donation and transplantation at free of cost.
