Madhes protest will end if parties express commitment on revising amendment bill, demarcation: Dahal

BIRATNAGFAR, Dec 27: Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) will agree to end the their ongoing agitations if political parties expressed commitment on revising the constitution amendment  bill and the demarcation of federal states on Sunday.



He further claimed that UDMF is in a mood to wait for another three months with a view to revise the demarcation of federal states through political committee.

“UDMF is likely to agree on the formation of political committee if concrete proposals on revising the constitution amendment bill and demarcation of federal states were floated,” Dahal informed to reporters speaking at a press conference at Biratnagar airport.


He also added that today’s meeting with UDMF is scheduled to hold talks on the issue.      


Dahal arrived here to take part in a program organized by the UCPN (M) student wing.       

On the occasion, Dahal expressed his unhappiness over the modus operandi of the incumbent government. He, however, ruled out any prospect of withdrawing its support to the incumbent government.


Also speaking to reporters, Dahal termed the Saturday’s incident at Jogbani of India-Nepal border point an unfortunate one as Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato  had sustained injuries during a sit-in.
