DHUNCHE (Rasuwa), Jan 11: In a bid to reduce the consumption of firewood, improved ovens are distributed to the locals in two VDCs in Rasuwa district.

According to WWF Nepal Field Office of Langtang National Park and Buffer Zone Support Project, so far altogether 400 improved ovens are provided to the locals of Yarsha and Dhunche VDCs. It is said that oven made up of iron plates and rod would save cooking time and is smoke-free.

The Project is co-working with the National Park for the past eight years to effectively carry out the conservation bids and reduce the locals' dependency on forest. RSS
