Graft case filed against ex-APF chief Shrestha

KATHMANDU, Feb 7: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Sunday filed a graft case at the Special Court against former Chief of Armed Police Force (APF) Shailendra Kumar Shrestha.  

The anti-graft body filed the case against four people including Shrestha for their alleged involvement in massive financial irregularities and corruption while transporting various logistics to various APF units across the country.

Shrestha was APF chief from July 2011 to March 2012.  

CIAA also filed the case against APF Inspector Takman Mahara, DSP Ram Chandra Shrestha and Bharat Kumar Thapa of Aditi Transport.

As per the investigation, the former IGP Shrestha was found involved in the embezzlement of Rs 8.93 million while Ram Chandra embezzled Rs 1.8 million, and owner of the Aditi Transport wronged Rs 5.7 million. 

Earlier, the commission had registered case against nine people including former IGP Koshraj Onta.
