KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Senior Leader Balendra (Balen) Shah, a candidate for Jhapa-5 in the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election on March 5, visited the Myanglungdevi Temple in Tehrathum. He was accompanied by RSP candidate Surendra Karki from Tehrathum.
Speaking on the occasion, Shah said, “This is just an informal visit. We are not here to give speeches or hold a public assembly. One could read about this place on Wikipedia or in books, but by coming here—feeling the air and water, sitting on its soil, meeting the people, seeing with our own eyes, touching with our hands and sensing with our hearts—we can truly understand what Tehrathum is like.”

He added, “We have come to gain firsthand knowledge so that when we talk about Tehrathum tomorrow, or if you raise issues, we are fully aware. We wanted to meet all of you. Besides, our presidential candidate is excellent—a very capable engineer. He may have already visited many households, mapped homes, or conducted valuations.”
Shah also advised RSP candidates and party workers not to make promises to the public that they cannot fulfill. Highlighting farmers’ complaints about lack of market access, he emphasized the need to work on resolving these issues.
