KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly winds. The hilly and Himalayan regions of Sudurpaschim Province, along with Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, are generally cloudy. Light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring at a few places in Sudurpaschim Province, while the rest of the country is experiencing mainly fair weather.
Today's weather update: Snowy forecast hits high hills today
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), cloud cover will prevail over the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the country this afternoon, while the remaining areas will see partly cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of light snowfall or rain at a few places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions. The MFD has also forecast light rainfall at one or two places in the remaining areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
Tonight, the hilly and Himalayan regions are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy. Light snowfall or rain is likely at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, the MFD said.
