‘The man from Kathmandu’ has released its trailer and poster at Nepali National Convention 2018 held at Chicago, USA, on Sunday. The film was made with an investment of Rs 50 million and was filmed in Kathmandu and Los Angeles.
The first look of the poster revealed a masked character with Nepali heritage sites in the background. The movie producers are planning to release the film in the USA, India, and Nepal on the same day. Directed by Pema Dhondup, the movie plot is based on the physical and psychological voyage of non-resident Nepali citizen residing in America with extremism mentality.

Director Dhondup who gathered acclamation from the movie ‘We’re No Monks’ said that the concept of the story came to him when he read an article in CNN. Then he researched for two years and blended Nepali culture and art into the story.
According to the press statement released by Dhondup, the movie stars American actor Jose Manuel, Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover, Pakistani actor Hameed Sheikh, and also includes renowned Nepali artists including Neer Shah, Anna Sharma, Shishir Bangdel, and Karma Shakya in prominent roles.
