Foreign Minister Gyawali to meet US Secretary of State early next week



Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali will hold a meeting with the US Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo early next week in the United States.


Three children of a family die after fire breaks out in Dang


Three children of a family were burnt to death after a massive fire broke out in Guranse of Bangalachuli Rural Municipality-8 in Dang district. The fire broke out after the solar panel burst into flames. A police team had reached the spot Friday morning.

Registering names of representatives begins


The Mahasamiti meeting of Nepali Congress (NC), the major opposition party in parliament, has kicked off in Kathmandu. Mahasamiti is the party's highest policy-making body. 


CPN's Standing Committee meeting on Saturday


The third Standing Committee meeting of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) is taking place Saturday at the party central office, Dhumbarahi. The previous Standing Committee meeting was held in Asar. The party leadership was being criticised for being unable to hold the Standing Committee meeting for long in the aftermath of the unification between two leftist parties to form the present one. The tomorrow's meeting is expected to finalise the issues regarding the unification of party's wings and district committees. 


Yemen's warring parties agree ceasefire for key port at UN talks


 


Yemen's warring parties on Thursday agreed to a ceasefire on a vital port in a series of breakthroughs in UN-brokered peace talks that could mark a major turning point after four years of devastating conflict. If implemented, the deal on the Hodeida port, a key gateway for aid and food imports, could bring relief to a country where 14 million people stand on the brink of famine.


 


Babar Hayat's 90 insufficient as Chitwan Tigers register their first win


Chitwan Tigers defeated Biratnagar Warriors by five runs in the Everest Premier League at TU International Stadium to register their first win. Babar Hayat helped the team to chase the total with his explosive batting. In 42 balls, Hayat scored 90 runs hitting 12 boundaries, eight of which were sixes.
