Kalika Kumar JV, the construction company, which was assigned to construct canals for the irrigation scheme, has started to establish the crusher industry without following the minimum standards for operating crusher industry.
The company has vowed some incentives to the community forest for allowing it to establish the crusher plant. The company has agreed to construct a office building for the community forest and along with an iron fence around it in exchange for allowing it to installing its crusher plant, informed Bharat Saud, chairperson of the community forest.
"I am not alone to make such decision. All the users of the forest agreed with terms of the company to give permission to allow the operation of the crusher industry," Saud said.
Earlier an emergency meeting had made the decision to allow the company to operate in its area. Although the meeting minute states that the community forest has allowed the company to only collect construction materials in its land, it has started to install the factory.
The company had earlier requested the district forest office for availing the site. The request has been still not approved. "Although we have received an application requesting for the site, we haven't approved it yet," District Forest Officer of Kailali Hemraj Kafle informed.
