“We will provide the required support for the elections. In particular, if the weather is not favourable in the Himalayan districts, we will conduct the elections in a second phase,” she said.
She added that even in areas with fewer voters, the government will use vehicles to transport voters to polling stations to ensure the electoral process is completed. However, if circumstances make it impossible to hold the vote in the first phase, the government will consider scheduling a second phase.
Since there has been no discussion yet about postponing the election for any reason, she urged the public to participate confidently in the upcoming vote on March 5. “I am confident that the election will be completed on time and that the newly elected representatives will take charge of state affairs and steer the country forward,” she said.
“We have made every effort to ensure the elections are conducted peacefully, and we expect the process to be completed in a secure environment,” she added.
PM Karki also acknowledged that the elections are being held under special circumstances but said the government will address any challenges that arise and ensure the vote takes place.
