Coalition partners to be flexible for consensus

KATHMANDU, Oct 20: A meeting of the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) held Saturday morning has decided to show maximum flexibility to forge national consensus among the political to end the current political impasse.



The meeting of the UCPN (Maoist), United Democratic Madhesi Front and other parties in the government held at Prime Minister´s Official Residence has also decided to hold a meeting after Dashain and take a concrete decision on whether to go for fresh elections or reinstating the dissolved constituent assembly (CA). The next meeting of the alliance is scheduled to meet on October 31.



Emerging from the meeting, spokesperson of FDRA Prem Bahadur Singh said that the meeting discussed the ways to resolve the political crisis and decided to call on the opposition political parties to show maximum flexibility for national consensus.



He said the meeting to be held after Dashain festival would discuss whether to go for fresh elections or reviving the disbanded CA.



During the meeting, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal informed the leaders of the FDRA regarding the progress held during the talks with the opposition political parties.



The meeting also concluded that there was no alternative to political consensus to resolve the present political transition and urged the other opponent political parties to be serious to forge consensus in the disputed issues.
