BUSINESS BRIEFS: Teletalk organizes road show

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Teletalk -- the sole authorized distributor and marketeer of Colors mobile in Nepal -- is organizing road shows at various places starting from Dang in western Nepal.



According to a press statement, movie star Rajesh Hamal inaugurated the road show and interacted with dealers and customers of Colors mobile. Rajesh Hamal is the brand ambassador for Colors´ Fighter series. The road show will be continued by Nirnaya and Yama Buddha in other cities like Butwal, Naryanghat and Pokhara, said the statement. Earlier, the company organized a two-week event at colleges and public places in Kathmandu. The tour will soon continue in the eastern part of Nepal. The tour focuses on the new series of mobile launch under ´X-series´, added the statement.



Mahindra´s ´Tri-Nation Escape 2012´ begins



KATHMANDU
: Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) -- India´s leading UV manufacturer -- and JK Tyre flagged off this year´s grand event the ´Tri-Nation Escape 2012´ under the Mahindra Adventure. The event will be held between September 11 and September 22. According to a press statement issued by the company, 25 expedition ready vehicles will traverse three countries starting from New Delhi and finishing in Bagdogra over a span of 12 days.



The expedition will go through Nepal and Bhutan. "While this drive will be the ultimate test of endurance for both man and machine, it also promises to give its participants an experience of a magnificent landscape," said the statement. "The journey aims to celebrate our cultural synergies and strengthen relationships with the neighboring countries, as it passes through some of the most beautiful landscapes."



Agni Incorporated--Nepal´s -- the authorized distributor of Mahindra in Nepal -- will help to conduct the program in Nepal, according to the statement.



DHL celebrates Global Volunteer Day



KATHMANDU
: DHL Express Nepal, a part of Deutsche Post DHL, marked Global Volunteer Day 2012, with 20 employees taking part in some recreational, sports and musical activities. According to a press statement issued by the company, the employees of DHL engaged the children of Nirmal Bal Bikas Vidhalaya and Association for the Welfare of the Intellectually Handicapped (AWIH), as a part of its global drive to give back to local communities and to inculcate a passion for volunteerism among employees. “At DHL, our aim is to make a positive difference in the community that we live in. DHL believes that people are its greatest resource and we aim to encourage employees to actively participate in community efforts, as well as inspire the spirit of volunteerism,” said Gagan Mukhia, country manager of DHL, said in the statement.



Manakamana Bank launches Teej offer



KATHMANDU
: Manakamana Development Bank is offering attractive gift to its clients who have opened Mahila Bachat accounts in branches inside Kathmandu valley to commemorate Teej festival. This scheme, which also offers free ATM cards to clients, will continue from Sept 12-20, according to a bank statement. The account offers 8 percent annual interest rate.



Siddhartha Mutual Fund to float bonds



KATHMANDU
: Siddhartha Mutual Fund, a subsidiary of Siddhartha Capital Limited, has appointed Growmore Merchant Banker as the joint issue manager of its bonds dubbed Siddhartha Growth Scheme - I. The lead issue manager will be Siddhartha Capital Limited, says a statement issued by Growmore Merchant Banker. The mutual fund is floating bonds worth Rs 400 million with a face value of Rs 10 each.



New book on SA economic integration released



KATHMANDU
: South Asian think tanks on regional trade and economic integration released a new book on South Asian regional economic integration during the Fifth South Asia Economic Summit, which kicked off in Islamabad on Tuesday. The book was jointly published by South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment (SAWTEE) and South Asia Center for Policy Studies (SACEPS). It highlights challenges of regional economic integration in South Asia by examining current shortcomings and future challenges. According to a press statement of SAWTEE, the book contains contributions from South Asian authors on emerging issues such as problems and challenges of regional economic integration, impediments to good and services liberalization, regional connectivity and trade facilitation and finance required for more effective integration of LDC members into the regional economic cooperation framework, among others.
