Rawal fires questions at Home Minister over Nepal Citizenship Act First Amendment Bill
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has tabled a Nepal Citizenship Act First Amendment Bill 2075 for deliberations at the parliament on Tuesday. Commenting on the Bill, NCP leader Bhim Rawal demanded an amendment to the Bill arguing that the provisions laid down in the Bill contradict with the Constitution.

School children, as young as four, hospitalized after drinking contaminated water
Twenty six school children, some of them as young as four, have fallen ill after drinking water that was mixed with poison in their school, Shree Secondary School of Letang-9, Jate. Four of those ill are critical and are undergoing treatment at Biratnagar’s Nobel Medical College, according to District Police Office, Morang.

Police have arrested two cadres of Biplav’s CPN-Maoist party with bombs in their bags from Jamal. Those arrested are Usha Kiran and Tara Sanjyal. Likewise, a man sustained injuries after a person hurled petrol bomb in a moving passenger bus at Tilottama municipality, Rupandehi. Similarly, an unidentified group hurled petrol bomb in a truck at around 9:15 AM in Kapilvastu district.
China angered at new U.S. defense act, to assess content
China on Tuesday condemned measures targeting it in a new U.S. defense act, saying it exaggerated antagonism and that Beijing would take a close look at aspects that beef up the role of a U.S. panel that reviews foreign investment proposals. China’s complaints about the act come as the world’s two biggest economies engage in an increasingly bitter fight over trade, levying tariffs on each others’ products.
Facebook to show La Liga soccer free in Indian subcontinent
Spain's La Liga soccer division has announced a major deal with Facebook that will allow viewers in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Indian subcontinent to watch all of its games during the next three seasons for free on the social network. Other countries where viewers will be able to watch the 380 league matches include India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, and Sri Lanka. The first game will be broadcast on August 17.
