Two arrested with bombs from Kathmandu

Police have arrested two cadres of Biplav’s CPN-Maoist party with bombs in their bags from Jamal. Those arrested are Usha Kiran and Tara Sanjyal. More than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in Kathmandu to ensure safety and avoid any unwanted incident, according to SSP Bishwa Raj Pokhrel, chief Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Division.

Likewise, the Nepal Army’s bomb disposal squads have also diffused bombs at Naikap and Sundarijal.   

Petrol bomb attack in Butwal moving bus

A man sustained injuries after a person hurled petrol bomb in a moving passenger bus, Lu 1 Kha 6631 at Tilottama municipality, Rupandehi. The passenger bus was en route to Bhairahawa from Pokhara. The injured has been identified as Roshan Bahadur Thapa of Kaski, Lekhnath-1, according to SP Yubaraj Pandey of Area Police Office, Managalpur. The attacker is at large.

Yesterday night, a bomb had exploded nearby the Butwal Pension Camp. Police have also arrested three cadres of Biplav led CPN-Maoist. Daily life has been affected due to the strike. Schools, industries and public transports have come to a slight halt. However, transportation along the Taulihawa-Lumbini-Bhairahawa-Parasi  Postal highway is in full operation informed the police.

Petrol bomb hurled in Kapilvastu

An unidentified group hurled petrol bomb in a truck, Na 5 Kha 4922 at around 9:15 AM in Kapilvastu district. The truck suffered from minor damage, according to the Area Police Office, Chandrauta. The truck was stationed at Shivraj municipality-1.  

Bomb explodes at Jhapa

A bomb has gone off near the Gauradaha municipality-‘s ward office, according to Balram Kharel, ward chairperson. The explosion has scattered window glasses and partly damaged the compound wall. Police are searching for those involved in the incident.  Police have also arrested two cadres, Asal Limbu, 25 of Taplejung and Raju Das, 26 of Biplav led party while distributing pamphlets.   

IED defused in Bhaktapur

Nepal Army bomb disposal squad defused two improvised explosive devices found at Suryabinayak and Lokanthali of Bhaktapur this morning. Two pressure cooker bombs were detected nearby Adarsha Bus Park in Suryabinayak municipality-6 and along the roadside in Madhyapur Thimi municipality-1, Lokanthali. 

Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Himalaya Kumar Shrestha at Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur shared that the Nepal Army team disposed the pressure cooker bombs planted in both the areas. 

He informed that police patrol and plain-clothed security personnel have been mobilized in different areas for maintaining law and order 

Bomb goes off in Sulichaur Bazar of Eastern Rolpa

A bomb went off at Sulichaur Bazar of Eastern Rolpa. Two bombs were detonated on Monday night at 8 pm. No party has claimed the explosion.  Locals said the bomb went off in a hillside near Sulichaur that had communication towers of Ncell and NTC. District Police Office is yet to provide further details.  However, Ganj Bahadur MC, CDO of Rolpa said, “Police have marched to the site for inspection and no information of damages has been relayed yet.” Likewise, market place and transportation at Liwang have been affected.

Nepal Army disposed bomb in Rautahat

A bomb has been disposed in Chandra Nigahapur, Rautahat. The bomb was found in a lunch box plastic wrapped with watch and battery in Moonlight Foundation, Chandrapur municipality-5.

The locals informed the police upon suspecting that the stranded object was a bomb. Then, Nepal Police relayed the information to Indra Box battalion of Nepal Army.  Captain Baburam Paudel led the bomb disposal team to diffuse the bomb. The incident had halted vehicular movements along the East-West highway for an hour. Nepal Police has suspected that the bombs could have been planted by Biplav led Maoist.

Two trucks have been set on fire in Gaidakot

Two trucks have been torched at Gaidakot, Nawalparasi. An unidentified group had put the trucks on fire in Bhrikuti Chowk, Gaidakot. The trucks, Na 2 Kha 8487, and Na 2 Kha 2548 had made a pit-stop when the incident took place. According to Police constable Narendra Kusuwa, “The trucks were burned at around 1:35 AM. The fire was extinguished by towing the trucks to the Narayani River by joint efforts of locals, Nepal Police and fire brigade.” Police has suspected that the act could have been carried out by Biplav led Maoist party.

Three trucks have been set on fire in Tokha

Three trucks that were travelling to Kathmandu from Nuwakot have been set on fire in Chahare-Tokha road section. The three trucks Ba 4 Kha 8516, Ba 5 kha 2130, and Ba 5 Kha 2132 were burnt this morning.
