KATHMANDU, June 10: Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal, Elisabeth von Capeller, had a farewell visit to President Ram Chandra Paudel on Friday. Ambassador Capeller is returning home after completing her five and half years' term.
During the meeting held at Sheetal Niwas, President Paudel said the Swiss government's good will to Nepal's development and the Nepali people is exemplary. Information to this was shared by President Paudel's foreign affairs expert, Dr Suresh Chandra Chalise.
Ex-ambassadors call for evaluating ambassadors’ performance
On the occasion, President Paudel expressed the belief that the relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the coming days. The President also lauded the contribution of Ambassador Capeller in further strengthening relations between the two countries during her tenure.
Similarly, British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt also paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel.
In the meeting held at the Office of President at Shital Niwas, the two discussed the matters related to mutual relations and bilateral interests between Nepal and the UK, according to Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, Spokesperson at the Shital Niwas.
On the occasion, President Paudel congratulated Pollitt for successful completion of her tenure in Nepal. It may be noted that Pollitt was appointed British Ambassador to Nepal in 2019. She served as the first female British Ambassador to Nepal since Nepal and the UK established diplomatic relations in 1816
