Hotels in Nagarkot open after earthquake

BHAKTAPUR, May 27: Hotels in Nagarkot, which were closed due the Gorkha' earthquake occurred on April 25, have now started providing their services.

The hotels, which used to be packed during the month of Baishakh and Jestha every year, were closed after the tourist arrival in Naragarkot was nil.


The hotels, which are safe from the devastating quake, have brought their services into operation completely from May 15 while the three-star hotels including Country Villa, which suffered partial damages, have also started providing their services after some repair and maintenance, said Chairman of the Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee, Deepak Lamichhane. The hotels remained closed for three weeks.

With the resumption of the hotels, the number of tourists visiting Nagarkot, a hill station on the eastern rim of Kathmandu and famous tourist hub, has increased. RSS
