The festive season is a treasure trove of Kodak moments. These are instances we would love to cherish for the rest of lives and we obviously make sure that our camera is within an arm's reach. However, if you wish to do more than just 'click', and tell your Tihar story with more finesse and in a more fun way, The Week is here to help you with that. Here are some cool, edgy apps that can not only help improve the quality of your picture but also turn your photographs into songs, incorporate 3D effects and what not.
Picture perfect
We even have an in house photographer giving you some night photography tips that is sure to come in handy as you take photos on the coming up festive season.
This is a very handy app that enables you to add up to 15 seconds of sound or music to any photograph. It could either be a new one you take from within the app or one from your photo library. You can even choose to record the music live and then share the "shuttersong" with everyone through social media or email. People from different walks of life have found many ways to use this app to enhance their projects and it would be a shame if we didn't make the most of it during this festive season too.
Diptic
How many times are you in a situation where you want to combine more than one photo in one picture? Sometimes it takes a few pictures to tell a story. This is what Diptic does amazingly well. The app has 52 different layouts to choose from. Simply open the app, tap the layout you want and add the photographs. You can also add effects and different borders. You can even tweak the brightness and saturation of your picture. When you are done editing, save, and export to most to social networks.
Camera51
Can't be bothered to think about composition when taking a photograph? Let Camaera51guide you on what all you should include in the image while taking it. The app's sophisticated algorithms analyze the lines, shapes and content you are framing and prompt you to move your smartphone for the best composition. Just in case you have a suspicion that your phone camera isn't smart enough, then the algorithm in their app can help you with that.
Snapseed
The award winning Snapseed is another awesome app that is so easy to use, and it has such powerful results. Adjusting images becomes a piece of cake with Snapseed. It is done by simply swiping you finger across to the right or to the left of the screen or by selecting your setting by moving up or down. You can get really creative using this very powerful app and at the same time have a great deal of fun. There are also some very cool filters that will completely transform your pictures.
Hyperlapse
Think about the classic black and white frames of a Charlie Chaplin movie and then picture your own Tihar celebrations filmed in that way. Released by the super addictive and innovative Instagram, Hyperlapse creates a time-lapse video, up to 12 times faster than reality. Further, it also stabilizes the end product, giving it a cinematic feel. When it was tested, turned out that the app could capture an entire sunrise in 10 seconds and an all day party in 30 seconds. So all you need to do is record videos when you are mingling and the app will do the rest for you.
Matterapp
Some things are worth the money and if you don't mind shelling a couple hundreds (last time we checked it was Rs 210) then definitely consider, Matterapp. This app lets you add 3D objects to your photographs. You can make your pictures look like they are straight out of a science-fiction movie. They give a choice of four packs of models ranging from geometric to architectural 3D structures. You can add them to the image, change the shadow, reflection and refraction, and make them opaque or transparent according to your wish to suit the photo.
