Workshop on earthquake response conducted

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: A "Project Reflection Workshop for Gorkha on Nepal Earthquake Response" was conducted in the capital on Monday. The day-long program aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of Information Volunteers who had worked with Women for Human Rights (WHR) during it earthquake response.

WHR and CARE Nepal had collaborated for disaster response in five of the most hard-hit VDCs in Gorkha. The activities conducted under the project included distribution of posters; meeting with stakeholders over WASH, legal services, gender based violence, health and hygiene; human trafficking; public service announcement; radio talk program; and referral to livelihood and survivors.


 

Project reflection was done by Information Volunteers from each of the five VDCs who had interacted with an estimated 10000 local people during the program. In concluding, discussions were held on reporting and future intervention.
