KATHMANDU, Dec 18: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has warned that any attack on the party leadership could bring the country to a standstill.
Addressing party leaders and cadres after the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected officials at the party’s General Convention on Thursday, Oli issued a stern warning against physical attacks on the party leadership.
Great Leadership: A Road Less Traveled
Referring to the historical misdeeds of the Panchayat era, when such attacks were carried out, he urged party workers to remain prepared for movements. He also called on them to be ready nationwide to challenge and potentially topple the government led by Sushila Karki, formed after the Gen Z protest on September 8 and 9.
Oli emphasised that any assault on the UML leadership would come at an extremely high cost. His remarks come at a time when the probe commission formed to investigate the human and material losses during the Gen Z movement is preparing to summon Oli in his capacity as the then Prime Minister, along with Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
