Westerly low-pressure system to bring rain again from Friday night

While the weather is expected to remain generally clear on Thursday and Friday due to the current westerly winds, the onset of another weather system from Friday will lead to cloud cover and rain.

KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The impact of the westerly low-pressure system will bring cloudy weather and rain starting Friday night, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. While the weather is expected to remain generally clear on Thursday and Friday due to the current westerly winds, the onset of another weather system from Friday will lead to cloud cover and rain.


According to Senior Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar from the division, there is little chance of rain today and tomorrow, but light snowfall is expected in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces tonight. She mentioned that the westerly system enter from Friday, leading to cloud cover starting in the evening, and rain is expected on Saturday. Although the weather will be cloudy nationwide, rain is predicted only in a few places in the far western and Karnali provinces.

Meteorologist Manandhar mentioned that the westerly low-pressure system will cause cloud cover across the country, with rain in some areas. She added that the weather will gradually improve starting from Sunday.
