Westerly winds likely to bring rainfall once again

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The westerly winds are likely to bring sporadic and heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday respectively, the department of hydrology and meteorology said.

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The westerly winds are likely to bring sporadic and heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday respectively, the department of hydrology and meteorology said.


The rainfall, which occurred throughout the country, led to snowfalls in the mountain and hilly regions. The hills of Kathmandu valley was also surrounded by snowfall early morning today. At Bhaktapur, Makwanpur and Melamchi, there was snowfall after 12, 15 and 20 years respectively.

“The weather will be clear until tomorrow. However, we expect the westerly disturbances to bring rain once again on Saturday,” Sujan Subedi, senior meteorologist said.  


Kathmandu valley witnessed 29 mm rainfall yesterday.
